FRANCISCO VIDAL

From Rhythms to Gestures

Working across drawing, painting, silkscreen printing, and installation, Francisco Vidal employs unusual supports such as handmade cotton paper he produces himself, industrialized African Machetes, synthetic silkier raw plywood panels and frames. Ia a creative cross-polination spirit, the artist continually makes uses of symbols from a wide variety of backgrounds together with all shorts of heterogeneous material such as pop art and street art, posters and comic books, graffiti and psychedelic aesthetics patterns from Vlisco and wax fabrics traditions. The works also feature allusions to contemporary urban cultured consumer goods linkedwith the sport and fashion industry.
